JIANDYIN is an interdisciplinary art duo from Thailand. Their work focuses on how to create a space or a form that generates a relationship between residents in the community and non-residents. In 2010, JIANDYIN organized interactive performances entitled “Seeing and Being,” in which they would visit different public spaces and invite the audience to participate in portrait painting. They continued the project at the Taipei Artist Village (TAV) in Taiwan in 2012, entitled “We are Going to Taipei.” In 2009, JIANDYIN received the New York Asian Cultural Council Fellowship. They have held artist residencies at the Headlands Center for the Arts, California, USA (2010); the International Studio and Curatorial Program (ISCP) in New York, USA (2010); and the Taipei Artist Village, Taipei, Taiwan (2012). The duo is currently working in cooperation with the Open Contemporary Art Center in Taipei to organize exhibitions and workshops for both Taiwanese and Thai artists. The events will take place in Bangkok and Taipei between 2012 and 2013.
