姜星恩 Seong Eun Kang

在本次駐村中,竹圍對 Seong Eun 來說是一個尚為陌生的地點,為了去理解它,她花了大部分的時間在社區中散步,「步行」於其而言是一個很重要的方式去親身理解並感受一個地區。她也藉由個人觀察去視覺化這個區域的環境或者文化特性,並從中找出規律或圖樣。

在沿途觀察社區的鐵窗花後,她製作了一份「散步地圖」,這個地區多樣及美麗的鐵窗花圖案對她來說是非常重要的視覺特色。窗戶及窗花是房屋樣貌中不可或缺的部分,似乎人們對於外在形象十分在意。

有了這份「散步地圖」,民眾可以在路上找到不同樣式的鐵窗花,鼓勵居民們出外走動,看見不一樣的竹圍風景。此外,她也製作了鐵窗花圖章,因此居民們能夠以有紀念性的地理特徵來看待它們,而非只是過往認為的普通樣貌。

駐村心得

This is first time for me to go abroad for residency program. I had great time and various opportunities with many artist from various contries and exotic place. i usually has been worked alone in Korea since i'm painter. But i could expand my experience by going new place and face new culture in other place.

I feel great comport and spend much time to refresh my mental/physical body along Tamsui river located just nearby studio. The walking along the river was one of the happiest time in a day. i could think of my work there for future and current as well.
