2012年的 The EOS Visiting Artist Program 是一個試驗性的計劃,主要在新加坡發展,他們想邀請熱愛地球科學議題的藝術家,一同參與他們的計劃,一起關注我們的地球。每位參與計劃的藝術家可以得到新加坡幣20,000作為發展藝術計畫的資金。截止日期為2012年8月31日。

The EOS Visiting Artist Program (EOS VAP) 2012 is a pilot programme that encourages the active engagement of regional artists who are inspired by Earth Science issues. The programme offers five grants up to SGD20,000 each to regional artists towards the development, production and creation of an artwork.

The Earth Observatory of Singapore is a Research Centre of Excellence located on the campus of Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. EOS has a mission to conduct fundamental research on earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunami and climate change in and around Southeast Asia, towards safer and more sustainable societies.

An interdisciplinary jury will select up to five regional artists inspired by Earth Science. Regional artists may apply individually or with collaborators and the jury will award up to SGD20,000 per successful applicant to develop and realize their art project.

Eligibility

  1. The EOS Visiting Artist Program will only consider proposal(s) that are fully funded by EOS. Participation per artist is limited to one project. Matriculated students are not eligible for EOS VAP 2012 funding.
  2. The categories of artworks that will be considered for the grant can fall under:
    a) Visual Arts
    b) Cinematic Arts
    c) Multimedia Arts
    d) Performing Arts
  3. The grant is open to all artists who are based in South East and East Asia.

Artists whose projects are funded by EOS are required to donate the completed artwork or a representative portion of it to the EOS art collection. The exact artwork(s) to be donated will be determined by EOS in consultation with the artist before the award of the grant.

Successful applicants will be announced by 21 September 2012
The programme will commence on 1 October 2012
All projects must be completed by 22 March 2013 and fully delivered to EOS no later than 30 April 2013
