Design for Asia Student Award 2011 Call for entries

Application deadline: 30 Sep 2011 (Fri) The DFA Student Award recognizes an individual student or team of students in the region who achieve outstanding results by successfully harnessing the power of creative collaboration, and who recognize the need to reach across the boundaries between disciplines in order to give full play to innovative genius.

Submission
Projects qualified for submission

(no specific theme is required)
Qualified projects should create links between design and industry, and widen the horizons of design (and design management) students, enable students to make informed reference to the world beyond design – to users, the market, new technology, economics, politics, law, and the global environment.

Online Application
Application is free of charge.
Entries could be individual or group projects;
Applicants should complete a online application form and provide a powerpoint or a movie link (optional) **.
Entries must be submitted online on or before 30 September 2011;

** Participant should produce a slide show/movie clip (at least 30 seconds) to introduce design concept, detail and function of design project and upload to YOUTUBE or YOUKU or personal website for judging.

Eligibility
All applicants must be individual tertiary students or recent graduates of an undergraduate course at an education institute in Asia and between the ages of 18-30. All entries must be recommended by the applicant’s lecturer or supervisor.

DFA Student Award is organised by Hong Kong Design Centre with major support from the Create Hong Kong, Commerce and Economic Development Bureau, HKSAR.
