2020 Creative Scenariosin Exchange: A Tai-Thai Urban and Community Development Exchange Project

Bamboo Curtain Studio holds the 2020 Creative Scenariosin Exchange: A Tai-Thai Urban and Community Development Exchange Project, and invites SATARANA, an organization devoted time and efforts in Bangkok, to toast with us. Together we share the cityscape depicted by Taiwanese and Thai cultural workers, link the culture and the power to innovate of both Taiwan and Thailand, and let audiences have a taste of urban renewals, public spaces, cultural activities, and social welfare of Taipei and Bangkok. Moreover, to think about what it really means to develop a city in creative ways? Are there other possibilities for the city?

The various spatial patterns gathered in the city each carry special symbols, meanings, social relations, and political and economic benefits. This session will discuss the new life in the old city and the formation of public spaces in the Taipei-Bangkok twin cities, and we will try to figure out how these four spaces are used as stages for cultural activities? How does the cultural strategy in space work? What are our imaginations of space and culture?

There are various types of communities in the city, each of which contains the peaks and valleys in citizens’ life, and also the survival practice and cultural pursuit. This session will discuss the communities in the Taipei-Bangkok twin cities, and the speakers will share how they are committed to maintaining equal access to every corner in the city? We will also appreciate two other public cultures generated from the art space, and think about when it comes to urban development, can the right to speak be returned to the people living in it by practicing "art, freedom, equality, and access"?
