Chia-Wen TSAI

Born in 1973 in Kaohsiung (Taiwan) , lives in Montreuil, France. Chia-Wen TSAI is active in artistical region. Chia-Wen TSAI begins her career as an electronics technology engineer before graduating from the French National Art School of Paris-Cergy in 2003.

She develops water installations starting in 2000. For her, water is a living substance with multiple aspects whose different facets she enjoys exploring. In 2003, she creates rich and dense waves with water reflections recalling fractal geometry. In 2002, her installation, O, spacializes amplified sounds in a flooded room; the heat of the projectors on the water's surface creates a humid atmosphere, evoking a tropical Taiwan. From June 6th to 18th, Chia-Wen TSAI was invited to be the residency artist of “artist exchange program” between Bamboo Curtain Studio and Soulangh Artist Villiage in 2016, staying at Bamboo Curtain Studio for two weeks.
