Agung Dewi was born in Denpasar. Her dad is a native Balinese from Klungkung regency and her mother came from Malang, East Java.

She spent her childhood in Sanur, a place that is known as a coastal stretch of beach with beautiful sunrise in Denpasar. She graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor of Tourism Business Management from Bali State of Polytechnic, Bukit – Jimbaran. During her campus life, she was active in various committees, including Indonesia Hell’s Kitchen Audition in Bali and CEVA Conference Asia Summit 2014. She started her career as a Sales Admin in one of a fine dining restaurant in Kuta, named Ma Joly Restaurant. After 2 months, she was promoted as MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Conference, Exhibition) Coordinator and in-charge of international groups event. Even though her career focus is in MICE, but she is very opened to chances of getting new experiences. Currently she is an Operation Manager of Ketemu Project Space, a creative organization in Denpasar, Bali. At Ketemu she gains a lot of experience and knowledge of art and seeing things with different perspectives.

During this residency, Dewi will be presenting Ketemu Project Space for “International Residency Exchange Program” with Bamboo Curtain Studio, staying in Taiwan for 1 month,  and participate in their art manager workshop. I will facilitate curator Wu Shu Lun for her residency in October – November by discussion and prepare a timeline for this project. Also, I am interested to do research on social art spaces in Taiwan, focusing on their project management, process of the project, financial sustainability and types of social enterprise that runs by social art spaces.

Works in residency

Residency Feedback:

This residency is my first residency experience. A lot of fears and worries was going on my mind on the start but as the first day of residency start, I got a lot of positive energy from the brainstorming workshop that make me more ease and confident. Important thing that I learn is to always be positive, train myself to be more confident and brave to start conversation to have better communication skills and meet more people to have network. It's also giving me the awareness of how big is my responsibilities and reviewing myself on the past. From this residency I got more ideas and understanding about my own work and things that I should do when I go back to my work space. The residency experience also giving me the desire to learn more about management, communications and the art scene in Bali & Indonesia, as a knowledge to make me more confident in meeting new people in this area and also giving me the possibilities to share more about this information to other people.
