Issay Rodriguez
Issay Rodriguez, artist (Philippines, 1991) received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of the Philippines, Diliman University, and graduated in 2013 with the Distinguished Paper Award and the Gawad Tanglaw Award. As a student, she is a scholar of the Jose “Pitoy” Moreno Foundation and, with the support of the French government, studied exchange scholars at the National Academy of Fine Arts in Paris. She has exhibited her work in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Jakarta, Taipei, Singapore, New Delhi, Dubai, Manila and Paris. Rodriguez and Katherine Nuñez exhibited at Viva Arte Viva, the main exhibition of the 57th Venice Biennale Central Exhibition Hall. In 2017, she participated in research and resident projects in Darwin, Asia: disappearing in the process: exploring dreams and related symbols between LIRSpace in Yogyakarta, Indonesia and 98B COLLABoratory in Manila. A year later, she conducted an artist residency project at Bagac and Bellas Artes Projects in Bataan.
