Tor Palm

Tor Palm was born in Sweden in 1982. He studied design at Carl Malmsten Furniture Studies in Stockholm between 2007 - 2010. During his studies, Tor got tired of the industrialized world, where he feels we are loosening the connection to ourselves and the things surrounding us. He started to explore different ways to fill the objects surrounding us with a meaning. 2010 he started the studio Glimpt together with his friend Mattias Rask.Glimpt travels around the world to find places where machines haven’t yet replaced traditional handicraft and where old knowledge is still passed on from generation to generation. Together with local artisans, Glimpt creates a fusion between traditional craft and contemporary design.

As artists Christin Wahlström in 2013 and Krystallia Sakellariou in 2014, Tor is rewarded by Konst i Hallands artist-in-residence grant 2015 from Sweden and will be working at Bamboo Curtain Studio for three months.
