Open Platform Call for Submissions

To give voice to ideas that demand to be heard, here and now, Asia Art Archive (AAA) presents 'Open Platform' with a call to cultural producers and organisers to submit proposals for 28-minute presentations that will be held during ART HK 12, the Hong Kong International Art Fair.

Residency report from Bamboo Curtain Studio, Taiwan by Veronica Frenning

I spent a month at the Bamboo Curtain Studio (Taiwan) in November 2011. It is located in Zhuwei, New Taipei, surrounded by a mountainous landscape along the Danshui River. Bamboo Curtain Studio (BCS) encourages cross-cultural exchange and can accommodate multiple artists at once. During the time I was in residence, there were other artists working there from Sardinia, Hong Kong, California, and an aboriginal performer from the Ami tribe in Taiwan.

The artist recently returned from a residency in Taiwan (as part of Bamboo Curtain Studio's Emerging Artist's Programme), where he interviewed practitioners and recorded the places where he found bamboo within Taipei City, Chaiyi and Nantou.
