3rd Singapore International Photography Festival | open call
The 3rd Singapore International Photography Festival (SIPF) is looking to discover new photographic artworks. With no thematic restrictions, the open call welcomes all photographers to submit. Shortlisted works will be curated by an international panel of esteemed art professionals and curators and showcased in various venues across Singapore. Submission from 5 December 2011 to 30 April 2012.

Residency report from Bamboo Curtain Studio, Taiwan by Veronica Frenning
I spent a month at the Bamboo Curtain Studio (Taiwan) in November 2011. It is located in Zhuwei, New Taipei, surrounded by a mountainous landscape along the Danshui River. Bamboo Curtain Studio (BCS) encourages cross-cultural exchange and can accommodate multiple artists at once. During the time I was in residence, there were other artists working there from Sardinia, Hong Kong, California, and an aboriginal performer from the Ami tribe in Taiwan.
The Winners of The 4th Emerging Artist Program
Bamboo Curtain Studio (BCS) select six national and international artists/groups in the program. It is expected that their projects will bring in new ideas and perspectives and their work will show the diversity of art in the world.

The artist recently returned from a residency in Taiwan (as part of Bamboo Curtain Studio's Emerging Artist's Programme), where he interviewed practitioners and recorded the places where he found bamboo within Taipei City, Chaiyi and Nantou.
