Peng I-I is the artist recommended by Bamboo Curtain Studio for a one-month residency at Red Gate Gallery in Beijing, China. Peng I-I is a mixed media artist. In recent years, Peng I-I focus on materials from old days, especially in today, “efficiency” will be the first priority in the future when making things. 

Tio Meng Samantha (Mintio)

Mintio's (b. 1986, Singapore) art practice focuses on lens and time-based medias. She is based between Singapore and Indonesia. Trained in the foundations of photography and cinematography, Mintio uses these two mediums to condense space and time, constructing fantastical spaces and other-worlds in her artworks. Her first publicly exhibited series "Concrete Euphoria", uses the large format photography medium and an almost-performative methodology to create mandalas with light from urban landscapes.

Budi Agung Kuswara (Kabul)

Budi Agung Kuswara (Kabul) was born in Bali in 1982 and had graduated in a Bachelor in Fine Art from Indonesia Institute of the Art, in Yogyakarta. His paintings first caught the attention of curators in his home ground and Kabul was invited to exhibit at the Bali Museum and Neka Art Museum.

Veron Sung(阿V)

Veron Sung is a Photo-based Cross-disciplinary Artist, founder of Veron Sung Studio who was educated in France and UK with scholarship and was named on the Faculty Dean’s Honours List. She then worked in London, Sydney, Auckland, Bali and now Hong Kong. Her works were exhibited and awarded numerously in Asia, Oceanic and Europe. She has photographed over 40 countries. She taught in universities and was employed by Kodak, Cosmopolitan and Bazaar international acclaimed magazines.

廖以歆 Liao I-Chin

I-Chin Liao was raised in Taipei, living in Hsinchu, Taiwan. In 2013 she had graduated in M.F.A from Academy of art university, San Francisco. Now she is focusing on abstract painting. IChin would like to expand the form of artwork from her used painting in the residency in Mite-Ugro, Korea. “60 Encounters”, is a poetic idea of recording everyday life in unfamiliar surroundings through collecting objects and incidents during the two month residency, which includes found objects, sculpture, painting, photography and video.

詹奉宗 Feng-Tsung Chan

Feng-Tsung Chan was born in 1980 in Miaoli, Taiwan. He received his MFA Fine Arts degree from School of Visual Arts, New York in 2013 and currently lives and works in Taichung and Miaoli. His installation and sculpture is a party of materials, a recurring play from frenetic improvisation to contemplative slowdown. Unpredictably juxtaposing found, ready-made, and natural materials, his intuitive process explores the flow of energy and the reincarnation of materials exploited by humans.

謝叢憶 Peter Hsieh

After Peter Hsieh graduation, he has been exploring his fascination with face by creating conceptual accessaries. He also did several collaboration projects with fashion designers in Europe. Peter Hsieh has been selected by “2016 Bamboo Curtain Studio Residency Program” and started his two-month residency in Beppu Project from the 31st of August to the 31st of October.
