International Residency Exchange Program Artist Talk: Creating, Connecting, and Producing in a Foreign Residency | 12.27
This talk is a collaboration event between Bamboo Curtain Studio and Taipei/Treasure Hill Artist Village. This talk invite exchange artists from both organization, come and share their international experience. The talk will cover topics in work development process, how to establish a local connection, how to overcome culture and language barrier, and etc. Artists will also be available to answer questions regarding his/her residency.
The Yingge Ceramics Museum was opened in 2000. Since then, the museum has dedicated itself to preserving the town’s cultural legacy while instilling new energy into the area. With such conviction, we decide to encourage ceramic artists, both local and foreign, to come experiencing the life in a pottery town through a one-to-three-month short-term residency program.
Bamboo Curtain Studio and San Art have partnered up for another year in a residency exchange program. 2013 saw artist Lena Bui travel to Taiwan (read her story here); this year, San Art Laboratory welcomes artist Chou Chien-Pang from Taiwan in Ho Chi Minh City for a 4-week residency in July.
The Pier-2 Art Center’s Artist-in-Residence (PAIR) Program is planned to designate a part of Dayi Warehouse Cluster as a residency for artists and artist groups. Submission Deadline: August 1, 2014.

In Artist in Residency programs, usually run by institutions like galleries, museums, public cultural organizations or artist communities, artists are selected according to their skills, merits or potential, in order to have a creative experience during a specific period of time.
